My studio space is my home and my garden which is sitting in the foothills south of Richmond overlooking the Waimea Plains, Tasman Bay and the Southern Alps.

I cannot separate my art from my life, and this stimulating environment, enables me to be creative and challenge myself without leaving home!

I live in Bowen, a sunny seaside town in North Queensland.

I have two messy art spaces in my home where you will find me on most days.
The views I observe  daily from my studio window inspire me to create art centred on my local environment.
It’s a place that is calm and peaceful and fills me up with so many ideas.

I live in Australia’s  Capital, Canberra – a place of four seasons.

The last few years have been my big chance to buckle down and work on 'gunna do’ projects.
The lack of distractions and the gift of time allowed me to finish a major embroidery work and write about my process.
My book Improv Embroidery exposed me to new experiences, podcasts, magazine reviews, and a studio head shot for publications.
Have you noticed how we all show our work and studio but no faces?
So here I am.
No longer invisible.

My husband who does technical support, says nice things about my work and never says no.

Thread, needle and  a bit of fabric keeps me as happy
A new challenge and for me that was writing a book

Living on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsular 30 minutes around the bay from Geelong is a peaceful existence, filled with natural wonders.
The birdlife is abundant, and the native flora is stunning and fills each season with wonder.

My space incorporates the outdoors as well as the indoors.
I gain my inspiration to make work from my daily walks in the environment.
The environment informs my palette.
One thing I have learned from creating over many years is that sometimes being challenged in a space can produce great work.

My equipment and materials which allow me to produce textured and complexly layered works.
My press is a valued piece of equipment as well as my numerous gel presses.
My storage is important to hold all my finished works and collage papers for future work.

I live in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.

My studio is in the back garden near our mini orchard and the vegetable garden.
The space is small, but that ensures I am tidy.
My indigo vat lives beside the studio and the verandah is where dye pots simmer.

I live in an adobe house on the foothills of Atawahi, Nelson (Top of the South Island), New Zealand overlooking the Nelson Haven and Tasman Bay.

The Nelson Tasman region is home to a vibrant arts community and is surrounded three national parks.
My studio space is at the centre of our home.
Designed together with my partner and constructed from local clay adobe blocks that capture energy from the sun.
Every time I enter the studio I feel embraced by its warmth, soft rendered walls, natural light, garden access and a slither of the view of Tasman Bay.

I live in middle America

I live in the woods in a house we built twenty years ago.
Consisting of a design studio, a dye studio and a classroom studio, my studio is filled with inspiration—cobalt blue bottles, joyful reminders, and my children’s art.
Studio security is provided by Zane, a 90-pound English Golden Retriever and a smart tabby cat who steals balls of pearl cotton.

I live in Upper Duroby, northern NSW, a small rural community.

“My studio overlooks the garden, is very quiet, contains all my tools, materials and books. It’s the place I go to when I wake up, with a cup of tea and fills me with
excitement at the thought of possibilities.”

Where I live;  Northumberland, UK

I live in the middle of a city but my studio is within a small arts centre in a lush valley in Northumberland. I love being surrounded by other artists making things in their spaces and within my own studio my own vintage materials for my collages.
