CANCELLATION DUE TO COVID-19

In talks this morning with Ballarat Grammar School and Downlands College Toowoomba, the venues have asked that we cancel our bookings at the schools due to the number of students booked to attend and the speed of the spreading COVID19 virus.

We are hugely saddened by the need to do this but feel alarmed about how things are unfolding and progressing across the world.

While disappointed, Nonie and I unite that acting responsibly is of utmost importance at this time.

Priority is to minimise unnecessary travel and therefore reduce any risk to this region, especially all members of the Ballarat Grammar community and any conference attendees who may fall into the vulnerable cohort for this virus.

Fibre Arts will continue to monitor the advice of health authorities in planning for the Winter conference in July and thank all staff at Ballarat Grammar for their continued support.

Currently Nonie and I are uneasy, being the persons responsible for asking people to gather in groups.

We also have concerns about the possibility of mandatory quarantine and people not being able to return home.

At this stage, we are compelled to cancel all the workshops for April.

We apologise from the bottom of our hearts as we know how much you have been looking forward to the amazing week, as have we!

Again our most sincere apologies for this unprecedented action and our kindest regards. Glenys and Nonie

THE TWO WHO ARE FIBRE ARTS AUSTRALIA

Glenys & Nonie

Sharing a love for textile art, travel and philanthropy, Glenys and Nonie are both artists in their own right and have been friends for over 30 years.

Joining forces as business partners in 2016, the pair now search the globe for the best textile and fibre artists to join their five-day textile art events as tutors.

Glenys and Nonie are focused on creating unforgettable experiences and giving Fibre Arts event attendees the space, time and motivation they need to focus on their artistic endeavours.

ARTISTS LOVE FIBRE ARTS AUSTRALIA!

Many of our students return time and time again to indulge their passion in what some describe as a ‘creative retreat’. Thousands of students and hundreds of tutors have attended over the years. Here’s what some of them have to say:
