Lives in Southsea, Portsmouth, UK

My studio is at the end of my garden.
It’s new so I’m still learning how best to use it.
It’s a real luxury having lots of natural light.
Previous spaces have felt darker.
Even though it’s small I love it and I’m lucky to also have access to a large print studio nearby.

Love, love, love your white shelving. I just saw something similar in Ikea and am deciding if that should be a New Year gift to myself. I also love that your own little space is at the end of your garden. Near enough for purposeful work but far enough to be separate from family and home life. Thank you for sharing.

You’re very welcome and .. Ooh are there some cool shelving items in IKEA .. ha ha. I’m going to have to make a trip there soon. The plan chest in my studio is from IKEA. The small white shelves with fragments of work squeezed into the spaces is from an antique shop. It’s had various uses and in fact fir a while was great for storing my threads.
Thanks for your comment as it’s great to hear your responses.

I've always wanted a space of my own that housed only my 'stuff' ...so envious.
I love that the first thing on your 'must have' list is a radio ! An absolute necessity in my book !
Thanks for sharing your studio.

You are very welcome. Music is essential isn’t it. I also listen to Spotify all the time and have playlists just for the studio. How nerdy is that eh !
…. I would have the Vinyl player in there if there was space.

Hi Sally. Nice to hear about your studio. I met you at Woodburn in Australia, nearly 4 years ago. Before all THIS happened. 😊 Hoping to do an in person class with you one day.
PS do you have a particular Spotify playlist??

Ah Helen, that was such a fun time. Is that at Woodlawn at that very unique and out of the way school on the hill. What an amazing landscape around it. I’ll never forget that trip. 😊
I love having a few different studio playlists depending on what I’m doing and what mood I’m in. You may be able to see them if you search for me on there. ? My daughter too has some great playlists. Such as The Shape of water. My fav chill out at the moment are Bon Iver, Thom Yorke - Suspirium, Sufjan Stevens and I love the piano music of Ludovico Einaudi. Always looking for recommendations too.

Wow, that's quite a list. I'll look you up on Spotify. Never done that! Thank you.
Yes, it was Woodlawn. A very unusual school. 😉 But we did have fun. And if it had been a different venue I may not have got into Seth's class due to overbookings, so I'm grateful.
