I’ve had a number of studio spaces over the past 30 years, but my current (and most loved) space is in Strathalbyn, SA. It is on the top floor of our home with a large window looking out over my street and the hills. I am absolutely not a minimalist and like to surround myself with objects and inspiration that I love. My tastes run to darker, more macabre subjects, but I also love quirk and kitsch and fun pieces. am an insatiable reader and most of my art library resides in my studio. As my work ranges over many different media, from sculpture to illustration, I keep a very organised space to avoid the frustration of my days being taken up with sifting through chaos to find the materials I need. Can't live without... Comfortable work chairs. Books. The beautiful drawing table my husband designed and built for me. My sculpting tools. Music while I’m working. Magnifying light. Our miniature dachshund, Fig, snuggled in her studio bed. Lorell's Fibre Arts workshop details here

Love your studio. I also range over different media (quirky). My studio is a mess and I spend hours trying to find things. So you are an inspiration for work, themes and order!!! Thanks from Carol

Ahhhh, a true nest! Wiggle yourself in and create. Loved seeing your space, as quirky and individual as it is - love people with passions. Thank you for sharing.

What our lovely Lorell doesn’t say is that she lives in the most beautiful building in the Main Street of Strathalbyn. My bank as a child and the place we looked at every day from our shop. Love your studio. Love to you and family 💛
