This first studio photo is me in my studio at Billilla, an historic mansion in Bayside Melbourne that offers artists free studio space as part of an artist in residence program. I loved that it was part of my local community and the atmosphere was alive with other artists, school groups and outdoor markets. That was in 2016-17. My hope is that I will have this type of opportunity again. The second photo illustrates my reality at the moment, which is working alone at my dining table due to Covid19. While it’s not ideal, I still feel lucky to have a space to work and know that conditions don’t have to be perfect for you to be creative and motivated for your arts practice. Can't live without.. gesso, shellac, papers, paints definitely my sketchbook and a nice Palomino Blackwing pencil. Jo's Fibre Arts workshop details here

A very good friend of mine had studio space in Rochester NY as part of a five year artist in residence. Hasn't our world changed in the past 18 months! you still look very happy on your dining room table - and hey, eating food formally on a dining room table is vastly overrated. Best wishes.

Hi Jo, I was just revisiting Fibre Arts Studio Spaces and noticed that your studio was featured just before mine! How lovely to see where you work, the dining room table is a wonderful space! I can't live without my sketchbook either 🙂
