In this course we will explore the simple joy of sketching. Capture the transient moment through expressive & spontaneous mark making and improve your confidence in translating your drawings to stitch using freehand machine embroidery.
We will immerse ourselves in engaging drawing practices, using a variety of materials and equipment including the sewing machine, working on both observational drawing skills and expressive techniques. You will discover your own unique language of line and learn how to take those discoveries into stitch as we explore a variety of techniques for incorporating textiles and mixed media.
Juliet will support and guide you to shake off any inhibitions and relax into the joy and freedom of self-expressive mark making. There will be a focus on process - leaving behind expectations and opening up to discovery through play and experimentation.
