Merina Wool, Felting

I am always in dialogue with my wool as I complete a piece. This piece was created as if I were meditating. I used New Zealand merino wool and wet felting techniques to create it into a hollow sculpture. Various sensations were swirling in the vortex of covid19. My mind was going here and there, sometimes in waves. My mind wanted to move, but it couldn't move as it wanted to. It is a frustrating movement, like that of a mollusc.  This work is an expression of my heart, trapped and shaken by the crisis of the past two years or so. By creating this work, I have purified my unstable mind, filled it with a clear heart, and found hope to step out into a new world.
