Barbara Bryn Klare uses rescued textiles, objects, drawings, text, and natural and digital materials to weave together a complex practice exploring fragility, repair, sustainability, and legacy. Cloth and thread as metaphor is a recurring motif.
The ragged strength of worn textiles forms the basis for large-scale installations, collage, drawings, objects, and social practice. Thread becomes line, cloth becomes paint.
Ms. Klare has been exploring Textile Sketchbooks as a means of expression and exploration in her art practice for several years. She has previously presented this workshop for Textile Arts Los Angeles and Dairy Barn Arts (Ohio).
