Join award winning paper artist, Anzara Clark and immerse yourself in the possibilities of paper as a textile medium.
In this workshop, foraging, reflection and a poetic perspective become a lens to explore materials, process and visual language.
Connecting nature, traditional textile processes and contemporary creative experimentation, we will explore a range of paper manipulation and embellishment techniques. Mark making, eco-dyeing, botanical and monoprinting, joomchi (paper felting), momigami (paper texturing), kami-ito (paper thread making) will provide the materials and inspiration for the creation of unique, small handstitched paper garments.
This workshop is suitable for students of all levels of experience.

paper poetry
Paper Poetry is an immersive class that explores the deepening of our own poetic voice in all aspects of the creative experience.
A poetic perspective is the lens through which we explore reflection, inspiration, materials, process and visual language.
Foraging and reflective practices will inform a range of paper manipulation and embellishment techniques, including mark making, eco-dyeing, botanical and monoprinting, joomchi (paper felting), momogami (paper texturing), kami-ito (paper thread making) and textile and fibre techniques that can be used to create beautiful paper-based objects.
Connecting nature, traditional textile processes and contemporary creative experimentation, as we prepare a range of beautiful papers, we will be building inspiration for the creation of paper soft sculptural objects and small handstitched garment forms, that link to and flow out of our immersion in paper processes.
More than an object, sculpture or garment, our final paper forms emerge as unique visual poems, each one with its own character and story that evolves during its making.
Participants will be asked to journal daily during the class and to share inspiring poems and visually poetic images that inspire them.
