I live in Northern NSW where I am exposed to a variety of landscapes and environments from which I draw inspiration.
I work intuitively, entirely by hand, focusing on colour, texture and layering recycled fabrics.
Currently I have an interest in the micro world of nature and aim to draw attention to its importance in species survival.

slow stitching the environment
In the workshop we will investigate the process of creating a small handstitched art textile.
Recycled, repurposed fabric, collected images of environmental concern and simple hand stitching will unite to form a new surface that can stand alone or be worked into another form.
We will spend some time outdoors observing, adding to the collection of images participants will bring with them; either photographing, collecting, sketching or just “being”.
The aim of the workshop is to engage with, deepen and share knowledge of the microenvironment and celebrate it through the development of a stitched work.
Workshop participants will work with recycled fabrics to develop a small handstitched work that represents an environmental issue that concerns/interests them.
No stitching experience is required beyond very basic handsewing techniques (eg. Running, blanket stitch).
