About Catherine O'Leary

Catherine O’Leary is a textile artist with a passion for making innovative, beautiful garments. She has exhibited her bojagi garments in Korea and  the USA. Catherine also participated in exhibitions in the 2012 Bojagi biennale. She has taught extensively in Australia and overseas and has a unique approach to design and construction.

Sewing your stash away!

In this workshop we will be learning how to combine fabrics into compositions of stunning beauty. This fabric will then be made into dress which will fit well and be flattering in shape. Clothing from your wardrobe which does not fit any more can be incorporated into the garment.

Alternatively, you can make a dress from a combination of old jumpers and cardigans. In this part of the workshop , pre shrunken knits will be pieced together to create a flattering , stunning garment. It is a great way to re purpose knits which have moth holes.

In this workshop we will be learning how to combine fabrics into compositions of stunning beauty. I love mixed fabric and have been experimenting and discovering some very cool techniques that I would love to share with students.
