Priscilla is an established contemporary textile artist and teacher from the UK with over 20 years of teaching experience. Working with her vast collection of found materials she combines fragments of ephemera with wire, fabric and wax to create delicate sculptures and embroideries. Using a process of reworking and manipulation Priscilla reassembles materials inspired by her own imagination focusing on the ephemeral fragility of our own identity, memories and reminiscences.

Priscilla has exhibited widely since completing her degree in   Embroidery at MMU in 1997, her work can be found in private and public collections including the Embroiderers Guild Education Portfolio.

Mixed Media Wire Sculpture Workshop

Are you passionate about sculptural textiles? If so this workshop is for you! Award winning Textile Artist Priscilla Edwards joins Fiber Art Australia this autumn sharing all her textile techniques and process. During this workshop Priscilla will take you on a creative journey sharing her textile practice and demonstrating how she creates her tactile sculptures. Inspired by Priscilla’s work you will make a series of your own textile and wire sculptures using a theme of your choice. You will learn how to manipulate lightweight paper covered wire and apply fabric to the surface using hot wax to create your own sculptures. Using a range of hand stitching methods you will explore the process of embellishment using paper, buttons and found ephemera. This workshop allows you the space to develop ideas and explore new and exciting ways of working that will help you to focus your own practice in new directions.

What you will learn in this workshop
