Janet Parker-Smith is a Sydney based artist who works with Printmedia, Sculpture and Altered books. She has been exhibiting nationally and internationally for over 20 years. Janet is represented by Van Rensberg Gallery, Hong Kong and has been supported by Brenda May Gallery, Sydney.
She has been chosen as a finalist in many print and art competitions. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections. Janet exhibited at Sydney Contemporary 2015, 2017 and 2018. She is the Studio Supervisor and sessional academic in Printmedia at Sydney College of the Arts and teaches at the National Art School.
Expanded Sculptural Forms –With Paper and found materials.
Discover a wide range of techniques using handmade paper, fabrics and found materials and learn how to transform them into unique sculptural forms. Students will bring a collection of their own papers, recycled books, fabrics, threads, wires and small found materials to make small functional and non-functional art works. Students will learn a wide range of techniques including making paper, paper sculptures and wearable art forms.
