About Robin Erza and Annie Day

Robin Ezra and Annie Day are sisters who grew up in an artistic household – their mother a creator of exclusive garments and their father a photographer.
Annie has been a practicing artist since gaining her painting diploma in 1974 from the National Art School, Sydney.
Robin first enrolled in Life Drawing classes at the ANU School of Art in 1985.
Printmaking Sisters are passionate advocates of safer, healthier and environmentally friendly printmaking techniques. Over the past 14 years they have taught these safer techniques in Florence, UK, New Zealand, Ballarat, Bowral, Newcastle, Adelaide, Sydney, Maldon, Rockhampton and Toowoomba.

Printmaking With Texture And Colour

This is a ‘hands on’ workshop of Printmaking Sisters’ new technique using waterless lithography in combination with collagraphy to create beautifully coloured prints.
This course has something for everyone, beginners to experienced printmakers. During the course you can expect to master many of Waterless Lithography’s amazing techniques and have some interesting works to take home.
At the outset we make our Waterless Lithographic key plates. The next exciting step is to construct the collagraph plates. These are built up by applying and/or gluing a variety of media to create texture and tone. In our case we will be using a lightweight metal plate. When the plate is dry we apply coloured printmaking inks to this plate before printing. Using the ‘a la poupée’ technique and stencilling we achieve a multi-coloured plate which will sit beautifully under the key plate when printed.
