Andy McPherson is a sculptor based in Fish Creek, South Gippsland who for many years has run Ride the Wild Goat gallery/workshop.
From a lifetimes experience in making things from wood and metal he explores the possibilities and potential in the materials that the world discards.
An ability to see beauty in every day objects and a rigorous desire to give each piece due respect combine with 40 years of refining techniques to result in deceptively simple forms that are guided by the essence of the material its self.
Further exporations of salvaged sheet metal.
Following on from the foundation course ” Beautiful things from salvaged sheet metal” this course will refine and expand upon the techniques previously learnt.
Participants will be encouraged to bring their own concepts along and, together we will work through the possible ways to bring them to fruition.
We will also explore the underlying philosophies of why and how we make the series of artistic decisions that combine to make up a finished piece.
