Different shapes and forms in felt
Anna Gunnarsdottir is a Textile Artist residing in Akureyri, Iceland.
Anna has her working studio and gallery in downtown Akureyri. It is called “Hvitspoi” which is a bird “curlew” in English.
Focusing on the traditional felt making technique, Anna combines it with a contemporary, fresh approach. She has developed her own unique way of felting, where her signature has a strong sense of Scandinavian and minimal art. Anna´s work is based on the idea of light and shadow, creating large sculptures and 3D wall pieces for both indoor and outdoor use.
Anna has gained international recognition for her sculptural work, exhibited in various countries such as Australia, USA, Germany Sweden and France.
You can use your own imagination to make different forms, shapes and put them together to make a sculpture. The pieces could be decorated as a wall-piece or a standing-work, it is up to you. You will learn new techniques in this field and let your imagination go wild in the magic world of wool.
